Job Description
An international NGO is seeking Agricultural Specialists for immediate placement in the Horn of Africa region. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about sustainable farming and resilient food systems in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement irrigation strategies suitable for semi-arid climates
- Advise and train local communities on sustainable farming practices
- Design and oversee solar-powered agricultural systems
- Collaborate with local partners and NGO staff to ensure project sustainability
- Monitor, report, and optimise agricultural outputs under harsh conditions
Requirements
- Extensive experience in semi-arid irrigation and farming methods
- Strong knowledge of solar-powered agricultural systems
- Willingness to live and work in basic conditions for extended periods
- Ability to work independently and in cross-cultural teams
- Proven field experience in Africa or similar environments (advantageous)
